A document photo is a headache of its own

A Myanmar Passport photo has strict requirements, and a mistake costs time and money. We’ll show you how to pass on the first try.

      It gets rejected

Wrong size, background or cropping — and the system returns the application.

      Expensive and slow

A trip to a photo studio means a queue, time and €7–12 for a reshoot.

      Confusing requirements

Exact size, head height, light background, facial expression — easy to get wrong.

      Redo it all over

Rejected — take another photo, pay and submit again. Round and round.

«PhotoID24 does it all for you: upload an ordinary photo — get a ready file exactly matching the official requirements.»

      In detail

      Your Passport photo: what matters

A Myanmar passport photo that passes on first submission must meet the specifications published by the Ministry of Immigration and Population. The requirements are precise: a 35×45 mm print (or a digital file at 600 dpi, approximately 827×1063 px), taken against a plain white or very light background, with a neutral expression and no obstructions on the face or head. Getting every detail right — from the exact head height to the background shade — is what separates an accepted photo from a rejected one.

One detail that trips up many applicants is the head measurement requirement. Myanmar's standard specifies that the head (from chin to the top of the hair) must measure between 32 mm and 36 mm within the 45 mm frame height. That translates to the face filling roughly 71–80% of the total frame — noticeably larger than in some Western passport photos. Additionally, Myanmar authorities require you to submit two identical printed copies of the photo, and each photo must have been taken within the last six months. An older photo, even a technically perfect one, will be refused. Digital submissions must be at 600 dpi to match the printed resolution standard.

      • Size: 35×45 mm (print) / 827×1063 px at 600 dpi (digital)
      • Background: Plain white or very light — no patterns, shadows, or coloured walls
      • Head height: 32–36 mm within the frame (face fills 71–80% of frame height)
      • Expression: Neutral, mouth closed, both eyes fully open and clearly visible
      • Glasses: Not permitted under any circumstances
      • Headwear: Prohibited except for recognised religious reasons; must not obscure the face or hairline
      • Recency: Photo must have been taken within the past six months
      • Copies required: Two identical prints when submitting in person
      • Common reasons Myanmar passport photos are rejected:
      • Head too small or too large — falling outside the 32–36 mm chin-to-crown window is one of the most frequent failures
      • Off-white or cream background — Myanmar's standard calls for white, and a warm or grey background tone is routinely refused
      • Glasses left on — any eyewear, including thin frames or lightly tinted lenses, is not accepted
      • Photo older than six months — even a technically flawless image will be rejected if it predates the six-month cutoff

Upload a clear, front-facing photo and the service automatically crops it to exactly 35×45 mm, positions your face within the required 32–36 mm head-height zone, and sets the background to the correct white — all to the Ministry of Immigration and Population's published standard. Before you pay anything, you receive a free watermarked preview so you can confirm the result looks right. If the final file is ever rejected by the issuing authority, we will redo the photo at no charge or issue a full refund. You pay only for the finished, compliant file.

      How we get it right

How we make your Passport photo meet the official standard — Myanmar, 35 × 45 mm

Every photo is prepared against the official requirements for your document — not a generic template. Here is what that means in practice:

      • 1We crop and size your photo to the exact millimetre and pixel dimensions the authority requires.
      • 2We check the background, head position, gaze and lighting, and flag glasses or head coverings that are not allowed.
      • 3We match the rules to the specific document and country, citing the official source of those requirements.
      • 4If anything does not meet the standard, you get a free re-do or your money back.

      No more doubts

A digital photo is normal, and it gets accepted — Myanmar, 35 × 45 mm

You do not need a trip to a studio. Authorities accept any Passport photo that meets the official requirements — what matters is the standard, not where the photo was made. We match that standard exactly.

      The standard is what counts

Officials check your photo against the rules — size, background, head position and lighting — not where you took it.

      Part of official processes

Many passport, visa and ID services let you upload a digital photo or submit a print — both are fine when they meet the spec.

      Same result as a studio

We prepare your file to the exact official measurements, so it is accepted just like a professional studio photo.

      And you are covered

If a photo is ever rejected for not meeting the requirements, we redo it for free or refund you.

Common questions about Myanmar Passport photos

What size does a Myanmar passport photo need to be?
A Myanmar passport photo must be 35×45 mm in print size. For digital submission it should be approximately 827×1063 pixels at 600 dpi. You also need to supply two identical printed copies when applying in person.
What background colour is required for a Myanmar passport photo?
The background must be plain white or very light with no patterns, shadows, or colour gradients. Off-white, cream, or grey backgrounds are commonly refused, so it is worth verifying the background tone before printing.
How much of the frame should my face fill in a Myanmar passport photo?
Your head — measured from chin to the top of your hair — must be between 32 mm and 36 mm within the 45 mm frame height. This means the face fills roughly 71–80% of the total frame, which is a relatively large proportion compared with many other countries.
Can I wear glasses in my Myanmar passport photo?
No. Glasses of any kind — including thin frames, rimless glasses, or lightly tinted lenses — are not permitted in Myanmar passport photos.
How recent does my Myanmar passport photo need to be?
The photo must have been taken within the six months immediately preceding your application. An older photo will be rejected regardless of its technical quality.
When do I pay, and what if my photo is rejected?
You receive a free watermarked preview before any payment is required. You pay only once you are satisfied with the result. If the photo is rejected by the issuing authority, we will prepare a new compliant version free of charge or provide a full refund.
