Honduras Driving Licence Photo — Official Size and Requirements
Everything you need to know about the official 50×50 mm photo standard for the Honduras licencia de conducir, issued by the DNVT.
This photo must be taken by an accredited service
For this document, Honduras does not accept a self-prepared photo. By law it must be captured on site by an authorised service and submitted electronically, so we cannot produce a submittable file for it. The official specification is shown below so you know exactly what to expect at your appointment.
This photo is captured on site — but we can make your Honduras photos online:
A document photo is a headache of its own
A Honduras Driving licence photo has strict requirements, and a mistake costs time and money. We’ll show you how to pass on the first try.
It gets rejected
Wrong size, background or cropping — and the system returns the application.
Expensive and slow
A trip to a photo studio means a queue, time and €7–12 for a reshoot.
Confusing requirements
Exact size, head height, light background, facial expression — easy to get wrong.
Redo it all over
Rejected — take another photo, pay and submit again. Round and round.
«Below are the exact requirements from the official source, so you arrive at your appointment prepared.»
Ordinary photo → ready for submission
We remove the background and clutter, set the framing and lighting — keeping your face without «beautifying».
Your face stays yours — we do not change features, only the background, lighting and framing.
Your Driving licence photo: what matters
A compliant photo for the Honduras driving licence follows the official standard established by the Dirección Nacional de Vialidad y Transporte (DNVT) and the Instituto de la Propiedad Vehicular. Meeting this standard precisely means no delays at the counter and no repeat visits to the licensing office to retake a portrait.
One important thing to know about the Honduras licencia de conducir process: the photo is captured digitally on-site at the DNVT licensing office, using a webcam system operated by staff during your appointment. You do not submit a printed or digital photo file yourself on the day. Knowing exactly what a compliant photo looks like beforehand lets you walk in fully prepared — correct posture, neutral expression, glasses removed, appropriate clothing — and eliminates the need for a second attempt at the counter.
- Dimensions: 50×50 mm (591×591 px) — square format
- Background: plain white (#FFFFFF), uniform, completely free of shadows or gradients
- Face coverage: face must fill 50–70% of the total frame height
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible
- Glasses: not permitted under any circumstances, including prescription frames
- Headwear: forbidden; exceptions apply only for documented religious or medical reasons
- Recency: the on-site portrait is taken the same day as your appointment
Common reasons on-site captures are retaken in Honduras:
- Glasses worn during the webcam capture — even thin prescription frames are not allowed; DNVT staff will ask you to remove them before proceeding
- Shadows on the face or background — arriving with a very large hair volume or a hat can introduce shadows even under the office's standardised lighting
- Non-neutral expression — a visible smile or open mouth causes the system to flag the image and require a retake
- Head covering — caps, beanies, and fashion scarves must be removed before the photo is taken, without exception
Our tool produces a perfectly standard-compliant 50×50 mm reference image from your own photo, automatically cropped and adjusted to the exact DNVT specification. Try a free watermarked preview before purchasing. While the official photo for your licencia de conducir is taken at the DNVT office, a ready reference image delivers real value: it shows you exactly the correct framing, head angle, and expression to present at the counter, and is immediately reusable for Honduran and international documents — visa applications, residence permits, ID cards — that do require a submitted photograph.
