Your Driving licence photo: what matters
The Slovak driving licence (vodičský preukaz) is issued by the district police department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, and its photo must meet the same biometric standard as the Slovak national ID card: 30×35 mm, pure white background, neutral expression, and a precisely framed face covering 70–80% of the frame height. - Shadows on face or background — Slovak police biometric software flags uneven lighting immediately; a plain white, evenly lit background is essential
- Glasses present — even transparent prescription frames are rejected under current EU-aligned Slovak rules; remove all eyewear before the shot
- Head tilt or rotation — the face must be strictly frontal and level; the imaginary line through both eyes must be perfectly horizontal
- Hair or clothing obscuring facial features — ears and the full oval of the face must be clearly visible; strands of hair across the face are grounds for rejection
