Chad Driving Licence Photo: Official ANATS Biometric Requirements
Complete official photo requirements for the Chad permis de conduire — 50×50 mm biometric standard, pure white background, no glasses, administered by ANATS.
This photo must be taken by an accredited service
For this document, Chad does not accept a self-prepared photo. By law it must be captured on site by an authorised service and submitted electronically, so we cannot produce a submittable file for it. The official specification is shown below so you know exactly what to expect at your appointment.
This photo is captured on site — but we can make your Chad photos online:
A document photo is a headache of its own
A Chad Driving licence photo has strict requirements, and a mistake costs time and money. We’ll show you how to pass on the first try.
It gets rejected
Wrong size, background or cropping — and the system returns the application.
Expensive and slow
A trip to a photo studio means a queue, time and €7–12 for a reshoot.
Confusing requirements
Exact size, head height, light background, facial expression — easy to get wrong.
Redo it all over
Rejected — take another photo, pay and submit again. Round and round.
«Below are the exact requirements from the official source, so you arrive at your appointment prepared.»

We remove the background and clutter, set the framing and lighting — keeping your face without «beautifying».
Your face stays yours — we do not change features, only the background, lighting and framing.
Your Driving licence photo: what matters
The Chad driving licence — permis de conduire — is issued under a unified biometric programme administered by ANATS (Agence Nationale des Technologies de Sécurité), Chad's national security technology authority. The photo specification is identical to the one used for Chad's national identity documents: a square 50×50 mm format, a pure white background, and a tightly defined face-to-frame ratio. Meeting this standard precisely is the foundation of a smooth, efficient appointment.
Chad's driving licence photo is captured digitally on-site during your biometric enrollment appointment at the ANATS office — it is not submitted by the applicant in advance. This integrated approach is the same process used for national identity documents, which is why the photo specification is identical: the 50×50 mm square image feeds directly into ANATS's national biometric database. Knowing the exact requirements before you arrive means you walk in fully prepared — correctly dressed, glasses removed, posture straight — rather than discovering a problem at the counter.
- Dimensions: 50×50 mm (591×591 pixels at standard print resolution)
- Background: pure white only (#FFFFFF) — no cream, off-white, or grey tones permitted
- Face coverage: your face must fill 65–78% of the total frame height
- Expression: neutral and relaxed, mouth closed, eyes fully open and clearly visible
- Glasses: not permitted — all eyewear must be removed, including prescription glasses
- Headwear: permitted only for documented religious reasons; must not cast shadows or obscure facial features
- Recency: the photo should reflect your current appearance, taken within the past 6 months
- Pose: straight-on, full frontal, head level and centered in the frame
Common reasons photos are rejected in Chad:
- Background is off-white, beige, or slightly tinted — ANATS requires exact pure white (#FFFFFF), and any colour cast will fail the automated biometric check
- Glasses not removed — the ANATS biometric standard prohibits all eyewear without exception, including thin wire-frame prescription glasses
- Face proportion outside the 65–78% range — too much headroom above the crown, or the chin cropped too tightly, both trigger a mismatch
- Head rotated or tilted — the biometric capture system requires a perfectly straight frontal pose; even a slight angle causes a recognition error
Use our tool to verify your photo against the exact ANATS biometric specification and generate a correctly sized, precisely cropped reference image before your appointment. A free watermarked preview is available instantly — download the full-resolution file only when you are satisfied with the result. Arrive at your biometric enrollment knowing exactly what a compliant photo looks like, and keep a ready-to-use compliant image for any other official document or visa application that accepts submitted photos.
