- Background: plain light grey (#D0D0D0), even and shadow-free
- Face height: the face must fill 68–77% of the frame height
- Expression: neutral, mouth closed, eyes open and looking straight ahead
- Glasses: allowed only if the eyes are fully visible with no glare or tint
- Headwear: not permitted, except for religious reasons with the full face visible
- Recency: taken within the last 6 months and resembling your current appearance
