A Kenya travel photo only does its job when it clears the official system on the first upload. Important country update: Kenya has abolished the traditional visa for most travellers and now requires an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization), applied for online at etakenya.go.ke. The eTA expects a digital photo of 500x500 px, saved as JPG, usually under about 200 KB, on a clean white background, with the head filling roughly 70% of the frame and about 8% of space above the hair. Because the application is fully digital, a clear webcam selfie is accepted — but only if it is correctly framed, sharp and unedited. The classic 35x45 mm print standard (413x531 px) still applies to printed document use, so we prepare both the on-screen and print-ready versions.

- Off-white background: grey, cream or textured walls fail the plain-white requirement.
- Poor framing: a selfie cropped too close or too far so the head is not near 70% of the frame with ~8% top margin.
