Passport Photo at CVS

Looking for a passport photo at CVS? Here is what the store does, which sizes it prints and what to bring — plus how to arrive with a file that will not be turned down.

At CVS Photo (the US) you can either be photographed on site or print your own ready file. If you print your own, it has to meet the standard in advance — and that's what we do: upload a selfie, we fit the size, background and head proportions to the requirements, and CVS Photo prints it at a self-service kiosk in store, by ordering online and uploading your file or with in-store pickup.

Good to know: the in-store passport service uses the KODAK passport & ID system; general prints can be ordered online for same-day pickup.

That way you get both compliance (our part) and a familiar local service close to home (CVS Photo). The file is universal — good for online submission and for self-printing.

A few practical notes. A document photo is small (usually 35 × 45 mm, or 2 × 2 inches in the US), so several copies fit on a single 4×6 / 10×15 cm print — handy and economical. Bring the ready file whichever way suits you: via the link in our email, straight from your phone, or on a USB stick. When ordering, confirm the print size so the photos aren't cropped.

What CVS charges and what you get

• Price: $17.99 for two 2×2 inch prints. Two extra prints cost $3.99, and a digital copy starts at $3.99.
• Who takes the photo: a store associate at the photo counter. No appointment needed.
• How long it takes: a few minutes while you wait.
• If you bring your own file: CVS also prints photos you upload or bring on a phone or USB stick — that is where a ready-made, standard-checked file saves you the in-store fee.
